Good morning wonderful folks!
This is an amalgamation of incredible individuals that have in some way, expressed a specific level of excitement when I said, "Pickleball", in the last 2 months.
Everyone in this chain are the SWEETEST OF BEANS.
I formally invite you to a Thursday evening on June 26th, for a pickleball gathering at Jackson Park in Vienna.
This location has permanent nets and so we'd just need you to bring your own paddleboard and balls. :)
I will be going out to see about getting some extra balls this weekend. If you have any extra paddles/balls that you'd like to help supply, please let me know. 🙂
I'm still deciding between 6 or 7 PM!
- your preferred time 6 or 7 PM (which would also help me confirm that you're planning on coming!)

I AM A BEGINNER and I will be actively learning the rules. Included is 1 short video to learn pickleball in a pinch. ;)

**For those curious why I selected the Vienna location, here is why:
The Vienna courts are hard to beat. The courts are right next to each other so people can watch multiple games happen at the same time, and good for us because our crowd is on the bigger side. And of course, there's permanent nets everywhere at the Vienna location. It's a 15 minute drive away from our bank but for what we're getting, it's worth it.
I am also aware of the Har Mar Hill location in Marietta which is a lovely location much closer to our bank, except they do not have permanent nets and each court is separated from each other. For a bigger group like ours, I'd love for the potential for folks to meet new folks. Vienna shines for these two reasons.
My goal is accessibility and making sure the experience is lovely. It's my first time organizing pickleball, a sport I've never played before, but I'm excited just the same. If you have any ideas on how to improve this experience in the future, please let me know. I'm all ears, so don't hesitate. 🙂

6.26.25. 2ND WEATHER Watch: Today's Pickleball Plan
Good afternoon everyone!
After reviewing the weather forecast and getting a good poll from people, I've decided to do two things:
reschedule our first sunny pickleball day to Thursday, July 10th. TBD 6:00/6:30 start time for that day (we have some folks that leave work at 6!). The chances of rain are still there in Vienna, and out of safety concerns, I want you to know that if you still plan on coming today, the court may be damp and slick and might not be safe for playing, since we have a mainly beginner crew. Safety first if you decide to come! 🙂 I will be traveling most of next week is also why, I can't host next week. 🙁
As for today, a few folks and myself don't mind the rain and will be at the court around 6:15, to play for at least 30 minutes before the rain hits. I will be there throughout the evening.😄 if you don't mind the rain and want to play despite a possibly slick court and risk your ankles, feel free to show up! 6.27.25. Pickleball First Meeting Success!
Good morning everyone!
Last night's first pickleball meet was a success! 😄
Some folks in this group braved the chance of rain and played last night. 8 of us played in Jackson Park as two full teams and it was the most wholesome first meeting!
The rain never happened, so with the temperature perfectly cool and the clouds protecting us from the heat, we played our first games exceptionally.
Thank you Josh Goocey and Alec Hess for knowing all the rules of the game and keeping proper score. Thank you Nathan Long for the music. Thank you to everyone who showed up! And thank you to everyone else for your continued support. 🙂

Good afternoon everybody,
Pickleball is still on tomorrow! We have a cloudy day and chance of rain so it'll be a great day to play. In the case there's real chances of rain, come at your own discretion. There's been chances of rain every week we've played and honestly, the rain gods have been good to us thus far. I want to bet they'll be good again tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
Feel free to bring a friend as a duo or play with a new friend at Pebo. 🙂
We'll start with introductions, stretches, and this time, a couple rounds without rules, just focused on returning the ball properly and coordination. And then we'll start adding in some rules. Very beginner friendly. Thank you to Josh Goocey for teaching us last time! For now, welcoming new and old faces. 😄

After close watch of the weather, more like, the sun...
We have heat advisory. It'll be in the 90s!! When we play today.
For my own sake as much as yours 🙁 I am cancelling pickleball today. However, if you still want to practice despite the heat advisory, you have the location! It's a great court. It's a great vibe. Not a lot of tree shade coverage. If you do go, I hope you'll have lots of fun.
But next week!! We have it cooler by a couple degrees and some cloud coverage. Next week's game is on for now. 🙂

7.31.25. WEATHER WATCH: Today's Pickleball
I hope you are having a lovely morning so far. Pickleball still has its chance of rain from 5 all the way through 6 today.
This is sickening. Sickening I tell you!
For now, I am not cancelling yet! I brought my paddle after all. Based on updates from Accuweather later today, I'll make a more informed decision. You know how I am. I only back out til the very end, but this time, within the two-hour range, not the one-hour range, like last time. 🙂
You know what would be ideal? A free-to-use indoor pickleball court. Perhaps unheard of. Perhaps.

Good morning everyone!
Thank you to everyone who showed up yesterday. We had the most lovely pickling, a true back and forth. The wind was present, and plenty of cloud coverage. 😄
My last day at Pebo will be next Tuesday, August 5th, but this pickleball idea will still run with new leadership from a fellow PDA and someone from another team here. They'll be wonderful. 😄
However, next Thursday's pickleball is still on! It will be the last meet that I host here, but hopefully, not the last time you play pickleball. It's been very fun so far.
